The story of the foundation of GKG takes us all to old India – India before partition under British Raj. Founder of GKG – Shri Bhagwan Das Girdhar and his brothers helped people in making their clothes free from stains even when people of India were not free themselves. They started providing organic laundry soaps in the old Punjab province of India. After partition, they left Pakistan and continued manufacturing home-based soap for livelihood in India. Another reason was their passion and dedication towards making laundry soap accessible to all at affordable prices. The journey started with door-to-door selling and getting recognized as local ‘Saabunwalas’. After years of consistently selling a high-quality magical cleaning product, Shri Bhagwan Das Girdhar set up his first manufacturing unit– Samrat Soap Factory which was later on renamed as Girdhar khadi Group. The generation-old business is still serving the Indian markets with the same agenda – making cleaning products accessible to all at affordable prices.
